BG Staffing is currently seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Recertification Specialist to join a respected Affordable Housing community. This is an excellent opportunity for a housing compliance professional who possesses extensive knowledge of Affordable Housing programs, LIHTC, HUD, Section 8, and Federal, State, and Local Housing Regulations.

Position Summary
The Recertification Specialist is responsible for managing and overseeing resident certification and recertification processes while ensuring full compliance with HUD, LIHTC, Section 8, and other applicable housing regulations. This role requires strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work collaboratively with property management teams and residents.
Key Responsibilities
- Maintain and update EIV binders, ensuring the timely generation and completion of all monthly and quarterly EIV reports.
- Monitor and enforce compliance with Low-Income Housing Tax Credit (LIHTC), HUD, and other affordable housing program regulations.
- Prepare, organize, and process all required documentation for audits, compliance reviews, and file inspections.
- Complete initial certifications, annual recertifications, and interim recertifications in accordance with HUD regulations and HPD guidelines.
- Calculate retroactive rent adjustments accurately and in compliance with program requirements.
- Determine resident rent amounts for annual and interim recertifications.
- Maintain accurate and detailed records of resident transactions and compliance documentation.
- Collaborate with property management teams to address resident questions and concerns related to certifications and recertifications.
- Ensure timely completion and submission of all required forms, reports, and documentation.
- Assist with file reviews and implement corrective actions as needed to maintain compliance standards.
- Stay current on changing affordable housing regulations, policies, and best practices.
Qualifications
- Minimum of 1-2 years of experience in Affordable Housing, HUD, LIHTC, Section 8, or housing compliance.
- Extensive knowledge of Affordable Housing programs and Federal, State, and Local Housing regulations.
- Experience processing resident certifications and recertifications.
- Strong understanding of HUD regulations, LIHTC compliance requirements, and EIV systems.
- Ability to calculate income, assets, allowances, and rent determinations accurately.
- Excellent organizational, analytical, and recordkeeping skills.
- Strong communication and customer service abilities.
- Proficiency with property management and housing compliance software preferred.
- Ability to work independently while managing multiple deadlines.
