Do you love helping people, creating exceptional customer experiences, and closing leases? We're looking for an Assistant Property Manager with LIHTC/Tax Credit experience who is passionate about delivering outstanding customer service while supporting the daily operations of a thriving affordable housing community.

As the Assistant Property Manager, you'll be one of the first people our residents and prospects interact with. You'll play a key role in creating an exceptional resident experience, supporting the Property Manager with daily operations, ensuring LIHTC compliance, and helping maintain high occupancy through effective leasing and resident retention.

What You'll Do

  • Deliver exceptional customer service to current and prospective residents every day.
  • Conduct engaging property tours that showcase the community and convert prospects into residents.
  • Meet or exceed leasing goals by following up on leads, overcoming objections, and closing leases.
  • Assist with lease renewals and resident retention initiatives.
  • Process LIHTC applications, income certifications, recertifications, and supporting documentation in accordance with affordable housing guidelines.
  • Maintain accurate resident files and ensure compliance with LIHTC, Fair Housing, and company policies.
  • Assist the Property Manager with rent collections, resident accounts, reporting, and day-to-day administrative operations.
  • Respond promptly and professionally to resident concerns, ensuring issues are resolved with urgency and care.
  • Build positive relationships with residents, vendors, and team members.
  • Process applications, leases, move-ins, and move-outs accurately and efficiently.
  • Coordinate with the maintenance team to ensure service requests are completed and residents are kept informed.
  • Help maintain an attractive, clean, and welcoming community appearance.
  • Support marketing efforts, outreach events, and resident engagement activities to increase occupancy and retention.

What We're Looking For

  • Previous apartment leasing or Assistant Property Manager experience preferred.
  • LIHTC/Tax Credit experience required or strongly preferred.
  • Knowledge of affordable housing regulations, income certifications, recertifications, and compliance requirements.
  • Proven ability to provide exceptional customer service.
  • Strong sales skills with confidence in closing leases.
  • Excellent communication and relationship-building skills.
  • Organized, detail-oriented, and able to multitask in a fast-paced environment.
  • Experience with property management software such as Yardi, OneSite, Entrata, RealPage, or similar platforms.
  • Working knowledge of Fair Housing regulations.
  • Positive attitude, professionalism, and a team-first mindset.
