Position Summary
The Maintenance Technician is responsible for maintaining the physical integrity of the community and ensuring apartment homes, common areas, and property systems are operating safely and efficiently. This position requires strong troubleshooting skills, attention to detail, and a commitment to providing excellent service to residents.
The ideal candidate is motivated, hands-on, and experienced in apartment maintenance or related trades.
Key Responsibilities
- Complete service requests in a timely and professional manner.
- Perform repairs involving plumbing, electrical, HVAC, appliances, carpentry, drywall, and painting.
- Prepare vacant apartment homes for new residents, including inspections and make-ready work.
- Conduct preventative maintenance on building systems and equipment.
- Maintain community amenities, common areas, and exterior grounds as needed.
- Troubleshoot maintenance issues and identify effective repair solutions.
- Ensure all work is completed in accordance with company policies and safety standards.
- Assist with emergency maintenance situations and participate in the on-call rotation if required.
- Maintain accurate records of completed work orders and maintenance activities.
Qualifications
Required
- Previous apartment maintenance, facilities maintenance, or related experience.
- Working knowledge of plumbing, electrical, HVAC, appliance repair, and general maintenance.
- Ability to use hand and power tools safely and effectively.
- Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.
- Reliable transportation and consistent attendance.
- Excellent customer service and communication skills.
Preferred
- HVAC certification (EPA Certification) preferred.
- CPO, CAMT, or other industry certifications are a plus.
- Experience with apartment make-readies and multifamily housing maintenance.
- Ability to participate in an on-call schedule.
Work Environment
- Indoor and outdoor work in a multifamily housing environment.
- Frequent standing, walking, bending, climbing, and lifting up to 50 pounds.
- Exposure to maintenance equipment, tools, and varying weather conditions.
- Interaction with residents, vendors, and onsite team members.
