Position Summary
The Certified Maintenance Technician is responsible for maintaining the physical condition and operational performance of an apartment community. This role focuses on completing service requests, performing repairs, supporting unit turns, and ensuring all systems and common areas are safe, functional, and well maintained.
The ideal candidate is experienced, dependable, and able to work independently while supporting a collaborative onsite team.
Key Responsibilities
- Complete resident service requests in a timely and professional manner.
- Perform maintenance and repairs including plumbing, electrical, HVAC, appliance repair, carpentry, drywall, and painting.
- Complete apartment make-readies and unit turnovers.
- Perform preventative maintenance on building systems and equipment.
- Maintain common areas, amenities, and exterior grounds as needed.
- Troubleshoot maintenance issues and determine effective repair solutions.
- Ensure compliance with safety procedures and property standards.
- Work collaboratively with maintenance staff, office teams, and vendors.
- Participate in an on-call rotation if required.
Qualifications
Required
- Prior apartment maintenance or facilities maintenance experience.
- Strong knowledge of plumbing, electrical, HVAC, appliance repair, and general maintenance.
- HVAC certification preferred or required depending on property needs.
- Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
- Reliable transportation and a strong attendance record.
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
- Excellent customer service and communication skills.
Preferred
- EPA Certification preferred.
- CAMT or other industry certifications are a plus.
- Experience with apartment make-readies and multifamily housing maintenance.
- Previous experience working in apartment or residential communities.
Work Environment
- Multifamily apartment community environment.
- Indoor and outdoor work in varying weather conditions.
- Frequent physical activity including standing, walking, lifting, bending, and climbing.
- Regular interaction with residents, staff, and vendors.
