BG Staffing, a leading staffing partner in the multifamily housing industry, is seeking an experienced and motivated Apartment Maintenance Supervisor to support a residential community in Troy, MI. This is a temp-to-permanent opportunity, offering the potential for long-term placement with a reputable property.

We are actively looking for a strong leader to oversee maintenance operations; however, we are also open to highly skilled Certified Maintenance Technicians who are ready to step into or grow into a supervisory role.

Position Overview

As the Apartment Maintenance Supervisor, you will be responsible for managing the daily maintenance operations of the property, ensuring all systems, units, and common areas are maintained to the highest standards. This is a hands-on role requiring both technical expertise and leadership capabilities.

The ideal candidate will be organized, proactive, and committed to delivering quality service while supporting a productive and efficient maintenance team.

Key Responsibilities

• Supervise and coordinate the maintenance team’s daily workflow and priorities
• Ensure timely completion of service requests and work orders
• Oversee and assist with unit turns, ensuring apartments are move-in ready
• Troubleshoot and perform repairs in HVAC, plumbing, electrical, appliances, and general carpentry
• Implement and maintain preventative maintenance programs
• Monitor property conditions, ensuring cleanliness, safety, and operational efficiency
• Manage inventory, supplies, and maintenance scheduling
• Ensure compliance with all safety protocols and company policies
• Provide excellent communication with residents, staff, and property management

Qualifications

• Previous experience in apartment or multifamily maintenance required
• Supervisory or lead experience preferred (but strong Certified Techs will be considered)
• Strong knowledge of HVAC, plumbing, electrical, and general maintenance trades
• Ability to lead, motivate, and support a maintenance team
• Excellent problem-solving and organizational skills
• Professional communication and customer service abilities
• EPA certification preferred
• Must have access to basic maintenance tools
