Responsibilities:

  • Complete and review monthly accounting close process including analytical review of the monthly operating results to ensure accurate accounting records are maintained.
  • Accurate and timely production of all financial information.
  • Perform cash projections to effectively manage cash balances and maximize the return on any excess cash balances.
  • Responsible for cash collections on existing accounts receivable.
  • Implement and improve (when necessary) accounting policies and procedures such as invoice processing, cash management and vendor processing.
  • Implement, document and maintain adequate and effective internal controls for all processes.
  • Implement, document and maintain adequate and effective processes to improve the close and reporting cycles to ensure timely and accurate reporting.
  • Ensure that accounting treatment of all transactions are in compliance with GAAP.
  • Provide knowledge on accounting treatment of complex accounting issues (in relationship to the laboratory services)
  • Coordination with 3rd party firm on audits (supporting documentation for audit fieldwork and financial statements including footnotes), state and sales tax, and tax return projects.
  • Responsible for ensuring compliance with all applicable financial and tax laws, rules, and regulations.
  • Provide financial reports as needed in pricing decisions on sales and revenue related statistics.
  • Supervise a team of 1-2 members.
  • Oversee the operations of the accounting department, including the design of the organization structure for achieving the department’s goals and objectives.
  • Any other responsibilities that may be assigned from time to time.


Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting required
  • 4+ years experience managing accountants and the accounting and finance process
  • Prepare monthly account reconciliations
  • Strong analytical and problem solving skills
  • Track record of working effectively with cross-functional team members
  • Ability to be flexible, multi-task, meet tight deadlines and prioritize
  • Knowledge of GAAP and demonstrated ability to research and apply accounting rules
  • Ability to research issues independently and communicate conclusions effectively
  • High quality communication skills (written and oral) required
  • Ability to deal well with ambiguity and thrive in a dynamic, fast-paced environment
  • Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple tasks
  •  Strong analytical, organizational, and technical skills required
  •  Preferred System Experience: Sage Intacct, EBizCharge and MS Office
