Senior Accountant/Financial Analyst

Qualifications

• Prepare cost and financial reports according to corporate deadlines and standards, including the analysis of variance comparing actuals vs. budgets monthly, and provide summary information for management reporting.
• Be the main driver of the annual budgeting program companywide and develop and manage the monthly forecast process based on estimated economic events.
• Perform the month-end close activities including ensuring all costs are properly and timely recorded.
• Work with parts and maintenance departments and assist in managing monthly inventory reconciliation and adjustments, as well as managing the annual inventory process.
• Provide operations with reports including cost and overhead, and other relevant reports based on a set of predetermined Key Performance Indicators (KPIs)
• Prepare and ensure timely, accurate monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports for internal use and for distribution to external institutions.
• Prepare operational results variance analysis, that includes revenues and expenses, and key balance sheet accounts and compared to prior reporting periods.

·            Participate in monthly and quarterly reviews and year-end audits supporting the CFO and Corporate Controller

• Perform technical accounting research, prepare documentation, and assist in implementation of accounting standards, including internal controls and procedures
• Assist the controller and the accounting group in the preparation of documentation for the annual external audit teams.
• Provide technical accounting support and draft whitepapers for new, critical, or unusual accounting issues.
• Participate in special project work by providing financial modeling and ad hoc reporting as needed.
• Provide quality meaningful verbal and written presentations to management

REQUIRED

• Bachelor's degree in accounting from an Accredited University.
• 3 to 5 years of work experience in cost accounting, experience with standard costing and reporting preferably in the transportation industry, will considered someone with manufacturing cost experience.
• Experience with financial reporting and variance analysis is needed.
• Excellent knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles, (GAAP)
• Proficient in Microsoft Office. Strong skills in Excel using data tables, pivot tables and the suite of data analytic tools is key
• Ability to prioritize work and deadlines in a fast-paced lean environment
