BG Staffing is currently seeking an experienced Apartment Maintenance Technician to join our team in Carol Stream, Illinois! Position Overview
As an Apartment Maintenance Technician, you will be responsible for the day-to-day maintenance operations of a residential apartment community. You will complete service requests, perform preventative maintenance, assist with apartment turns, and help ensure the property remains safe, clean, and well-maintained for residents and guests.
The ideal candidate will have experience troubleshooting and repairing various building systems while providing excellent customer service to residents.
Key Responsibilities
- Complete resident service requests and work orders in a timely manner
- Perform general maintenance and repair activities throughout the property
- Troubleshoot and repair plumbing, electrical, and HVAC-related issues
- Maintain and repair appliances, fixtures, and building equipment
- Assist with apartment make-readies and unit turns
- Perform preventative maintenance to minimize future repairs
- Ensure community grounds, common areas, and facilities are well maintained
- Follow all safety procedures and company policies
- Communicate professionally with residents, vendors, and management staff
- Respond to maintenance emergencies as needed
Qualifications
- Previous apartment maintenance experience preferred
- Knowledge of basic plumbing, electrical, HVAC, appliance repair, and carpentry
- Ability to diagnose maintenance issues and complete repairs efficiently
- Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills
- Excellent customer service and communication abilities
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Reliable transportation
- Ability to lift, carry, push, and pull maintenance equipment and supplies
- HVAC certification is a plus, but not required
