Position Summary
As an Apartment Maintenance Technician, you will be responsible for maintaining apartment homes, common areas, and community amenities to ensure a safe, clean, and welcoming environment for residents. The ideal candidate has previous apartment maintenance experience, strong troubleshooting skills, and the ability to complete a variety of maintenance tasks independently and efficiently.
You will play a vital role in preserving the property's appearance, functionality, and overall resident experience.
Key Responsibilities
Maintenance & Repairs
- Complete resident service requests and work orders in a timely and professional manner
- Diagnose and repair maintenance issues throughout the property
- Perform preventative maintenance to help maintain the community's operational standards
- Ensure all repairs are completed safely, accurately, and efficiently
Plumbing
- Repair and replace faucets, fixtures, garbage disposals, and toilets
- Address clogged drains and other basic plumbing concerns
- Troubleshoot common residential plumbing issues
Electrical
- Perform basic electrical troubleshooting and repairs
- Replace switches, outlets, fixtures, and light bulbs as needed
- Identify maintenance concerns and escalate major electrical issues when necessary
Appliance Repair
- Diagnose and repair common household appliance issues
- Service refrigerators, ranges, dishwashers, garbage disposals, and other appliances
- Coordinate with management regarding replacement recommendations when needed
General Maintenance
- Complete carpentry, drywall repairs, painting, and general upkeep projects
- Maintain community curb appeal and common areas
- Assist with grounds and property maintenance when required
Unit Turns & Make-Ready
- Prepare vacant apartment homes for new residents
- Complete inspections and identify necessary repairs
- Ensure apartments meet company quality standards and move-in deadlines
Qualifications
Required
- Previous apartment maintenance experience is required
- Strong knowledge of general maintenance functions and repair techniques
- Experience with plumbing, electrical, appliance repair, and carpentry
- Ability to work independently and prioritize multiple tasks
- Reliable transportation
- Must provide and maintain your own tools
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanship
Preferred
- HVAC certification or additional maintenance certifications
- Experience working in multifamily housing or property management environments
- Excellent customer service and resident relations skills
