Position Overview
Position: Apartment Maintenance Technician
Location: Madison, WI 53703
Schedule: Monday through Friday, 8:00 AM – 4:30 PM
Pay Rate: $25.00 per hour
Key Responsibilities
As an Apartment Maintenance Technician, you will be responsible for maintaining the overall condition, functionality, and appearance of the community. Duties may include:
- Completing resident service requests in a timely and professional manner
- Performing preventative maintenance throughout the property
- Troubleshooting and repairing plumbing, electrical, HVAC, and appliance issues
- Repairing doors, windows, locks, fixtures, and cabinetry
- Assisting with apartment turns and preparing vacant units for new residents
- Inspecting buildings and grounds to identify maintenance needs
- Ensuring community safety standards are maintained
- Assisting with painting, drywall repairs, and general carpentry tasks
- Supporting emergency maintenance needs when required
- Maintaining accurate maintenance records and work orders
Qualifications
The ideal candidate will possess:
- Previous apartment maintenance experience preferred
- Knowledge of HVAC, plumbing, electrical, and general maintenance practices
- Ability to diagnose and repair a variety of maintenance issues
- Strong customer service and communication skills
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities
- Reliable transportation and excellent attendance
- Basic hand tools preferred
- EPA Certification is a plus, but not required
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanship
Physical Requirements
- Ability to lift, carry, push, and pull up to 50 pounds or more as needed
- Ability to stand, walk, bend, climb stairs, kneel, and work in confined spaces
- Comfortable working both indoors and outdoors in varying weather conditions

To maintain a professional appearance on property, employees are required to wear:
