Position Summary
The Assistant Property Manager will support the Property Manager with the day-to-day operations of the community while providing excellent customer service to residents and prospective residents.
This position will assist with leasing, resident relations, rent collection, resident accounts, property inspections, maintenance coordination, administrative duties, and general community operations.
The ideal candidate is organized, professional, detail-oriented, and comfortable working in a fast-paced environment while building positive relationships with residents and team members.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist the Property Manager with the daily operations of the community.
- Provide professional and friendly customer service to residents and prospective residents.
- Assist with leasing activities, including applications, move-ins, move-outs, transfers, and lease renewals.
- Conduct property tours and assist prospective residents throughout the leasing process.
- Maintain accurate resident files, records, and documentation.
- Assist with rent collection, delinquency follow-up, and resident account management.
- Respond to resident questions, concerns, and service requests in a professional and timely manner.
- Coordinate and follow up on maintenance requests and resident work orders.
- Assist with property inspections and community walks.
- Help ensure the property remains clean, safe, and well-maintained.
- Communicate with vendors, contractors, residents, and team members as needed.
- Assist with marketing and resident retention efforts.
- Maintain accurate property records, reports, and correspondence.
- Assist the Property Manager with administrative and operational responsibilities.
- Follow company policies, Fair Housing requirements, and applicable laws and regulations.
- Maintain confidentiality of resident and property information.
- Support the Property Manager with other duties as needed.
Qualifications
Required
- Previous property management, leasing, customer service, or administrative experience preferred.
- Strong organizational and time-management skills.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
- Professional and customer-service-oriented approach.
- Ability to multitask and meet deadlines.
- Basic computer skills, including Microsoft Office and email.
- Ability to learn and use property management software.
- Reliable transportation and dependable attendance.
Preferred
- Previous multifamily property management experience.
- Experience as an Assistant Property Manager, Property Manager, or Leasing Consultant.
- Experience with property management software.
- Leasing and resident relations experience.
- Knowledge of Fair Housing regulations.
Work Environment
- Primarily office-based within a multifamily community.
- Frequent interaction with residents, applicants, vendors, and team members.
- Fast-paced environment requiring organization, accuracy, and strong communication.
- Occasional property inspections and community walks.
- Occasional weekend or extended-hour availability may be required.
