Position Summary

The Certified Maintenance Technician is responsible for maintaining the physical condition and overall operation of a multifamily apartment community. This role includes completing service requests, performing preventative maintenance, preparing apartment homes for new residents, and ensuring the property remains safe, functional, and well-maintained.

The ideal candidate is dependable, takes pride in their work, and enjoys providing excellent service to residents.

Key Responsibilities

• Complete resident service requests promptly and professionally.
• Perform maintenance and repairs, including plumbing, electrical, HVAC, appliance repair, carpentry, drywall, and painting.
• Complete apartment make-readies and unit turns.
• Perform preventative maintenance on building systems and equipment.
• Maintain common areas, amenities, and exterior grounds.
• Troubleshoot maintenance issues and implement effective repair solutions.
• Follow all safety procedures and company standards.
• Work collaboratively with the property management team and outside vendors.
• Participate in an on-call rotation, if required.

Qualifications

Required

• Previous apartment maintenance or facilities maintenance experience.
• Working knowledge of plumbing, electrical, HVAC, appliance repair, and general maintenance.
• HVAC certification preferred or required based on property needs.
• Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
• Reliable transportation and dependable attendance.
• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
• Strong customer service and communication skills.

Preferred

• EPA Certification preferred.
• CAMT or other industry certifications are a plus.
• Experience with apartment make-readies and multifamily housing maintenance.
• Previous experience in residential or apartment communities.

Work Environment

• Multifamily apartment community setting.
• Indoor and outdoor work in varying weather conditions.
• Frequent standing, walking, lifting, bending, climbing, and carrying equipment.
• Daily interaction with residents, office staff, contractors, and vendors.
