Position Summary
The Maintenance Technician is responsible for maintaining the appearance, safety, and functionality of the apartment community. This role includes completing resident service requests, performing general repairs, assisting with apartment make-readies, and helping ensure the property remains in excellent condition.
The ideal candidate is dependable, motivated, and takes pride in providing quality work and outstanding customer service.
Key Responsibilities
- Complete resident service requests promptly and professionally.
- Perform general maintenance and repairs, including plumbing, electrical, appliance repair, carpentry, drywall, painting, and basic HVAC troubleshooting.
- Complete apartment make-readies and unit turnovers.
- Perform preventative maintenance on building systems and equipment.
- Maintain common areas, amenities, and exterior grounds.
- Troubleshoot maintenance issues and recommend appropriate repair solutions.
- Follow all company safety procedures and property standards.
- Work closely with the maintenance team, office staff, and outside vendors.
- Participate in an on-call rotation, if required.
Qualifications
Required
- Previous apartment maintenance, facilities maintenance, or related maintenance experience.
- Knowledge of plumbing, electrical, appliance repair, carpentry, drywall, painting, and general maintenance.
- Basic HVAC knowledge is preferred but certification is not required.
- Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving abilities.
- Reliable transportation and dependable attendance.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Excellent customer service and communication skills.
Preferred
- Previous multifamily apartment maintenance experience.
- Experience with apartment make-readies and unit turns.
- EPA or other maintenance certifications are a plus but not required.
Work Environment
- Multifamily apartment community setting.
- Indoor and outdoor work in varying weather conditions.
- Frequent standing, walking, lifting, bending, climbing, and carrying tools or equipment.
- Daily interaction with residents, office staff, vendors, and contractors.
