Property Accountant

Location: Newport News, VA (100% Onsite)

Salary: $85,000-$90,000

We're seeking an experienced Property Accountant to join a growing real estate organization in Newport News, VA. This is a fully onsite opportunity for an accounting professional who enjoys managing property financials, improving processes, and working closely with leadership.

What You'll Do

• Manage accounting for a portfolio of real estate properties
• Prepare monthly financial statements and reporting packages
• Review and reconcile general ledger and balance sheet accounts
• Prepare journal entries and bank reconciliations
• Assist with budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis
• Prepare audit and tax support schedules
• Partner with property management teams on financial reporting
• Support the company's transition from paper-based processes to a more paperless environment

Qualifications

• 3+ years of Property Accounting experience
• Yardi experience required
• Strong knowledge of GAAP and financial reporting
• Advanced Excel skills
• Experience with multiple property types preferred
• Multifamily and/or Affordable Housing experience is a plus
• Bachelor's Degree in Accounting preferred
