Property Accountant – Contract to Hire

Location: Cottonwood Heights, UT 84121

Schedule: Monday–Friday

Pay Rate: $25–$26/hour (DOE)

Position Type: Contract to Hire

Job Description

• Prepare and deliver timely monthly financial statements for assigned properties
• Perform month‑end close including journal entries, balance sheet and P&L reconciliations
• Maintain general ledger accuracy and ensure compliance with accounting standards
• Review and approve accounts payable, deposits, and accounts receivable activity
• Assist with budgets, forecasts, audits, and client financial inquiries

Qualifications

• Property management or real estate accounting experience required
• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent combination of education and experience
• Experience with property management accounting software such as Yardi, AppFolio, Entrata, or CYMA
• Strong understanding of general ledger accounting and reconciliations
• High attention to detail with strong organizational and math skills
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office
• Ability to meet deadlines and communicate effectively with internal teams and clients
