Affordable Housing Compliance Specialist / Assistant Manager

Location: Seattle, WA 98105 (University District)

About the Role

We are seeking an experienced affordable housing professional to lead our compliance and resident recertification process. This is a critical role focused on maintaining the integrity of our HUD 50059 data and ensuring that Property-Based Vouchers (PBV)—specifically tied to the unit, not tenant-based Housing Choice Vouchers—are processed accurately and timely.

Key Responsibilities

  • Expert File Completion: Take full ownership of resident files, ensuring 100% compliance with HUD 50059 regulations.
  • PBV Management: Process Property-Based Vouchers through the entire lifecycle, ensuring they are correctly tied to specific units and processed to recertify residents.
  • Recertifications: Conduct annual and interim recertifications, including income and asset verification, to meet strict federal deadlines.
  • HUD Liaison: Serve as the point of contact for HUD-related audits and ensure all property data is submitted accurately through TRACS or equivalent systems.

Requirements

  • Proven HUD 50059 Experience: You must have a deep, functional understanding of HUD 50059 compliance. This is not a "learn-on-the-job" position for these regulations.
  • Property-Based Voucher Expertise: Demonstrated experience with vouchers that stay with the unit (PBV), distinguishing them from LIHTC (Tax Credit) or standard Section 8 Housing Choice Vouchers.
  • Detail-Oriented: Ability to process complex mathematical calculations for income limits and rental subsidies without error.
  • Software Proficiency: Experience with property management software (e.g., Yardi, RealPage) and HUD reporting portals.

Benefits Through BGSF

  • Weekly pay
  • Medical, dental, and vision insurance options (where eligible)
  • PTO or sick leave where required by state/local law
  • Referral bonus opportunities
