Construction Accounting Specialist

📍 Location: Highland Hills, OH | Competitive Pay - $25-26/hr | Contract-to-Hire | Monday-Friday 8:30a.m.-5p.m.

BGSF is partnering with a leading construction company to hire a Construction Accounting Specialist! If you have strong AP/AR skills and a background in construction cost accounting, this could be the perfect fit for you.

What You’ll Do:

• Input and manage financial data with accuracy.
• Process and verify invoices, match purchase orders, and resolve discrepancies quickly.
• Assist with month-end close.
• Maintain vendor relationships, reconcile vendor statements, and process employee expense reports.
• Support Project Accountants with vendor/subcontractor waivers.
• Manage subcontractor/vendor W-9 and insurance paperwork.
• Build and maintain Smartsheet trackers (equipment, contractor insurance, deadlines).
• (Preferred) Oversee warehouse accounting functions including inventory transactions, reconciliations, and reporting.

What We’re Looking For:

• Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Accounting (preferred but not required) OR relevant AP/AR experience.
• Background in construction accounting, cost reporting, or project cost accounting.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel (Foundation Software experience a plus).
• Detail-oriented with strong organizational and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to work independently, adapt to change, and communicate effectively.
• High integrity when handling sensitive financial data.
