Building Engineer – Contract 2-3 months

📍 Location: Irving, TX

💰 Pay: $25.00/hour

🕒 Type: Contract


The Building Engineer is responsible for the daily operation, maintenance, and repair of building systems including HVAC, mechanical, plumbing, and electrical components. The ideal candidate will bring strong technical knowledge and a proactive approach to preventive maintenance and tenant service.


Key Responsibilities

  • Perform scheduled and unscheduled maintenance on building systems
  • Operate, troubleshoot, and repair HVAC systems including chillers, boilers, AHUs, RTUs, pumps, and compressors
  • Complete general repairs to electrical, plumbing, and building components
  • Maintain operation logs, equipment history, and chemical treatment records
  • Respond to and resolve tenant work orders professionally and promptly
  • Support safe, uninterrupted building operations with minimal tenant disruption
  • Ensure compliance with internal procedures and safety standards
  • Assist in scheduling and delegation of PM tasks when needed
  • Follow direction from Chief or Assistant Chief Engineer and participate in ongoing training

Requirements

  • Commercial office building experience required
  • High School Diploma or GED
  • Proficient knowledge of building systems (HVAC, plumbing, mechanical, electrical)
  • Experience with water treatment, maintenance logs, and basic troubleshooting
