Are you an Experienced Commercial Building Engineer? Great contract to hire opportunity paying up to $27.00 an hour DOE in the Dallas area.

 

POSITION’S HOURS:

8:00 AM - 5:00 PM, Monday – Friday

Available to respond to emergency after-hours calls on nights and weekends as needed.

 

ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES:

 

  • Must be self-motivated to accomplish work efficiently and skillfully without immediate supervision.
  • Prioritize service calls and follow-up upon completion.
  • Perform all assigned work so as to ensure the safety of the building's tenants and the continuous operation of the site.
  • Must have good communication skills in order to resolve tenant maintenance concerns courteously and promptly. This will include, but is not limited to, hot/cold calls, light bulb replacements, general service requests.
  • Inspection of buildings, property, and equipment for unsafe or malfunctioning conditions.
  • Conduct periodic general preventative maintenance on the mechanical, electrical, HVAC, and plumbing systems. This involves normal lubrication, adjustment, cleaning, replacement of consumable parts (such as filters, belts, pulleys, indicator lights, etc.), and periodic testing of the equipment. These systems include, but are not limited to, air handling units, EMS, water pumping systems, cooling plant, Pneumatic HVAC systems, all plumbing system components and a strong understanding of centrifugal chillers.
  • Assist with installation and modification of building equipment systems.
  • Perform and/or oversee electrical and plumbing repair and troubleshooting.
  • Coordinate maintenance efforts with outside contractors and technicians when work cannot be performed in-house. Coordinate contractor, tenant and management approvals for work orders that require the use of an outside contractor. 
  • Orders parts and supplies as required; and maintains stock and inventory control.
  • Prepare and maintain maintenance logs and records.
  • Be familiar with and conform to all written operating procedures associated with site.
  • Ensure the cleanliness and appearance of all work areas.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
  • Must be able to lift 50 pounds.
  • Must be able to work safely from a ladder.

 

Experience Required:

  • Min. of 3 yrs. experience in building engineering operations
  • Ability to handle multiple projects
  • Strong customer service skills
  • Good verbal and written skills
  • Basic computer skills to include Outlook, Word, Excel

 

Working Knowledge:

  • HVAC, Electrical, Plumbing, Mechanical
  • Life Safety Systems
  • EMS and Work Order Systems
  • Knowledge of computer based secured card reader access and BAS system, elevators, cooling towers and air handler systems.
  • Some Knowledge and understanding of blueprints
