Job Title: Interior Construction Assistant Project Manager

Location: Baltimore, MD

Employment Type: Direct Hire

Salary Range: $65,000 – $85,000 + Comprehensive Benefits Package


Position Overview

We are seeking a proactive and detail-oriented Interior Construction Assistant Project Manager to support the successful delivery of commercial interior construction and tenant improvement projects. The ideal candidate will bring 2–3+ years of construction project management experience, a strong understanding of various construction trades, and exceptional communication and organizational skills. This is a full-time opportunity offering growth potential in a collaborative and dynamic environment.


Key Responsibilities

  • Coordinate all phases of commercial construction projects from pre-construction through closeout.
  • Collaborate with leasing agents to develop accurate, cost-effective project budgets.
  • Deliver outstanding customer service to tenants and maintain close coordination with internal departments including leasing, design, development, and property management.
  • Maintain and regularly update historical cost data to support accurate and timely in-house estimating.
  • Create, manage, and update detailed project schedules to ensure timely delivery.
  • Handle all aspects of permit processing, from application to final approval.
  • Liaise with local utility providers to secure timely service connections.
  • Solicit, review, and evaluate bids and scopes of work across all trades.
  • Provide on-site field supervision when necessary to ensure quality and progress.
  • Draft, review, and negotiate contracts and revisions with architects, consultants, clients, suppliers, and subcontractors.
  • Review, authorize, and track project invoices and change orders.
  • Negotiate and secure approval for out-of-scope work and ensure appropriate compensation is received for all changes.

Qualifications

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree required; Construction Management or Engineering degree strongly preferred.
  • Experience: Minimum 2–3 years of experience in construction project management, with tenant improvement project experience a strong plus.
  • Skills & Competencies:
    • Strong understanding of commercial construction methods and trades.
    • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
    • Highly organized with strong time management skills.
    • Customer-focused and team-oriented.
    • Proficient in construction scheduling and budgeting.
