Building Engineer

Position Summary

We are seeking an experienced Building Engineer to maintain, troubleshoot, and repair building systems to ensure safe, reliable, and efficient facility operations. The ideal candidate has 3–5 years of commercial building maintenance experience, strong HVAC knowledge, and hands-on experience with mechanical, electrical, and plumbing systems.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform preventive maintenance, troubleshooting, and repairs on HVAC, electrical, plumbing, and other building systems.
• Inspect, maintain, and troubleshoot boilers, pumps, compressors, refrigerant systems, and water systems.
• Monitor building equipment and identify potential issues before they cause system failures.
• Coordinate contractor work and assist with required inspections.
• Respond promptly to emergency maintenance requests and equipment failures.
• Maintain accurate maintenance logs, service records, and inspection documentation.
• Follow safety procedures, technical instructions, and applicable building maintenance standards.

Qualifications

• 3–5 years of building maintenance or building engineering experience required.
• Hands-on HVAC troubleshooting and repair experience.
• Familiarity with boilers, pumps, compressors, refrigerant systems, and general building equipment.
• Electrical and plumbing maintenance experience.
• Ability to read and interpret technical manuals, instructions, and safety regulations.
• Relevant trade license or certification preferred, such as HVAC certification or Journeyman Electrician license.
• Strong problem-solving, communication, and time-management skills.

Physical Requirements

• Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds.
• Ability to climb ladders and work in confined spaces.
• Ability to perform hands-on maintenance tasks throughout the facility.
• Flexibility to work occasional overtime during emergencies.

Compensation and Employment

• Pay: $25.00–$28.00 per hour.
