Maintenance Technician - Apartment Community

Location: Minneapolis, MN

Schedule: Monday-Friday, 8:00 AM - 5:00 PM

Pay Rate: $28.00 per hour

Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled and reliable Maintenance Technician to join our apartment community team in Minneapolis, MN. The ideal candidate will have experience in apartment maintenance, troubleshooting, repairs, preventative maintenance, and property upkeep. This position plays a critical role in ensuring resident satisfaction by maintaining the property's appearance, safety, and functionality.

Responsibilities

Maintenance & Repairs

• Perform plumbing repairs and troubleshooting.
• Complete electrical repairs and maintenance tasks.
• Repair and maintain household appliances.
• Conduct air handler inspections and general HVAC maintenance.
• Perform lock changes and hardware replacements.
• Complete preventative maintenance on building systems and equipment.
• Prepare apartment homes for new residents, including turnovers and make-ready work.
• Install and repair doors, cabinets, light fixtures, window coverings, and other building components.

Property Upkeep

• Maintain the overall cleanliness and appearance of the community.
• Manage regular trash removal and trash chute maintenance.
• Remove debris from interior and exterior areas of the property.
• Assist with seasonal property needs, including light snow removal, salting, and sanding walkways.
• Identify and report safety hazards or maintenance concerns.
• Ensure all common areas, grounds, and facilities are well-maintained.

Qualifications

• Prior apartment maintenance or property management maintenance experience preferred.
• Knowledge of plumbing, electrical, appliance repair, and general HVAC systems.
• Ability to use hand and power tools safely and effectively.
• Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to work independently and prioritize tasks.
• Excellent customer service and communication skills.
• Valid driver's license and reliable transportation preferred.
• HVAC Certification (EPA preferred) is a plus.
