BG Staffing is currently seeking a reliable and experienced Apartment Maintenance Technician to support a residential community. This is an excellent opportunity for a maintenance professional who enjoys hands-on work, takes pride in solving problems, and values building strong relationships with residents and team members.

Unlike many maintenance roles, this position is assigned to one property each day, allowing you to focus on providing exceptional service without traveling between multiple sites throughout your shift.

Position Overview

The Apartment Maintenance Technician is responsible for maintaining the property's overall condition through timely repairs, preventative maintenance, and support of daily property operations. The ideal candidate has a strong understanding of apartment maintenance systems and can confidently perform a variety of repair and maintenance tasks while delivering excellent customer service.

Certification is not required; however, HVAC or other maintenance certifications are highly valued.

Key Responsibilities

Work Orders & Service Requests

• Complete resident work orders promptly and professionally
• Diagnose maintenance issues and perform necessary repairs
• Communicate effectively with residents and property staff regarding maintenance needs

Electrical Repairs

• Troubleshoot and repair common residential electrical issues
• Replace outlets, switches, light fixtures, and other electrical components as needed
• Follow all safety procedures and maintenance standards

Plumbing Repairs

• Repair leaks, faucets, toilets, disposals, and related plumbing fixtures
• Diagnose and resolve plumbing concerns efficiently
• Perform routine inspections and preventative maintenance

General Property Maintenance

• Complete carpentry, painting, drywall, and other general repair tasks
• Maintain common areas and ensure the community remains clean and safe
• Assist with apartment turns and make-ready projects as needed
• Identify and address maintenance concerns before they become larger issues

Qualifications

Required

• Previous apartment maintenance or related maintenance experience
• Experience performing electrical and plumbing repairs
• Ability to troubleshoot maintenance issues independently
• Strong work ethic and attention to detail
• Excellent customer service and communication skills
• Ability to lift, carry, and work in a physically active environment

Preferred

• HVAC certification or other maintenance-related certifications
• Multifamily housing maintenance experience
• Knowledge of preventative maintenance programs
