Apartment Maintenance Technician

Location: Charleston, SC

Pay: $20–$26 per hour, based on experience

Schedule: Full-time

We are hiring an experienced Apartment Maintenance Technician for a residential community in Charleston, SC. This is a great opportunity for a dependable, hands-on maintenance professional who can troubleshoot repairs, complete apartment turns, and provide excellent service to residents.

The ideal candidate will have 3–5 years of apartment or property maintenance experience with strong knowledge of HVAC, plumbing, electrical, appliance repair, carpentry, drywall, painting, and general building maintenance.

HVAC and CPO certifications are preferred but not required. Highly qualified candidates with strong maintenance experience will still be considered.

Responsibilities

• Complete resident service requests accurately and within established timeframes
• Diagnose and repair HVAC, plumbing, electrical, appliances, and other building systems
• Complete apartment turns, including painting, drywall repair, fixture replacement, and general make-ready work
• Perform preventative maintenance inspections and repairs
• Maintain community buildings, common areas, grounds, and overall curb appeal
• Respond professionally to resident maintenance concerns
• Maintain accurate records of completed work orders and needed repairs
• Keep tools, equipment, maintenance areas, and inventory organized
• Follow company safety procedures and property standards
• Participate in an on-call rotation for emergency maintenance when required
• Assist the maintenance team with additional property needs and special projects

Qualifications

• At least 3–5 years of apartment, multifamily, or residential property maintenance experience
• Strong troubleshooting skills in HVAC, plumbing, electrical, appliance repair, carpentry, drywall, and painting
• Experience completing service requests and apartment turns independently
• HVAC certification preferred but not required
• CPO certification preferred but not required
• Candidates without certifications may be considered based on their experience and technical abilities
• Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation
• Ability to safely lift, carry, climb ladders, bend, kneel, and perform physically demanding work
• Strong communication, time-management, and customer-service skills
• Dependable, organized, and able to work independently as well as part of a team
• Willingness to participate in an on-call rotation when needed

Compensation

• $20–$26 per hour, depending on experience and certifications
