BG Staffing is actively seeking a Certified Apartment Maintenance Technician for an outstanding multifamily community in Suitland, Maryland. Position Overview

The Certified Apartment Maintenance Technician is responsible for maintaining the physical condition of the property through timely service requests, preventative maintenance, unit turns, and general repairs. This role requires a well-rounded maintenance professional with expertise in troubleshooting and repairing issues related to HVAC, plumbing, electrical systems, appliances, carpentry, and general maintenance.

The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, customer-focused, and capable of working independently while maintaining high standards of safety and workmanship.

Key Responsibilities

• Complete resident service requests in a timely and professional manner
• Perform preventive maintenance on apartment homes and community equipment
• Troubleshoot and repair HVAC systems, electrical components, plumbing fixtures, and household appliances
• Conduct apartment make-ready and turnover activities
• Complete drywall repairs, painting, carpentry, and general maintenance tasks
• Repair doors, locks, windows, flooring, and other interior and exterior components
• Maintain common areas, amenities, and property grounds as needed
• Assist with inspections and identify maintenance concerns before they become major issues
• Adhere to company policies, safety regulations, and industry best practices
• Deliver exceptional customer service when interacting with residents, vendors, and team members

Qualifications

Required

• Certified Apartment Maintenance Technician certification or equivalent maintenance certification
• Previous apartment maintenance, multifamily maintenance, facilities maintenance, or related experience
• Strong knowledge of HVAC, electrical, plumbing, appliance repair, and general maintenance
• Ability to effectively diagnose and troubleshoot maintenance issues
• Strong communication and customer service skills
• Dependable attendance and professional work ethic
• Ability to work independently and manage priorities efficiently

Preferred

• EPA Certification
• HVAC certification or experience
• CPO Certification
• Experience in multifamily housing or residential property management
• Knowledge of preventive maintenance programs

Physical Requirements

• Ability to lift, carry, push, and pull up to 50 pounds
• Frequent standing, walking, bending, kneeling, climbing, and reaching
• Ability to work indoors and outdoors in varying weather conditions
• Ability to safely operate hand tools, power tools, and maintenance equipment

8:30 AM - 5:00 PM
