Apartment Maintenance Technician
BG Staffing is seeking a skilled and dependable Apartment Maintenance Technician to support a residential community in Middletown, NJ. This is an excellent opportunity for a maintenance professional looking for immediate work with the potential for an extended assignment.
The position is covering for a technician currently on leave, with an expected duration of approximately two weeks, though the assignment may continue longer depending on business needs.

Position Overview
As an Apartment Maintenance Technician, you will be responsible for helping maintain the community's apartments, common areas, and grounds while ensuring a safe, comfortable living environment for residents. The ideal candidate will have experience handling routine maintenance repairs, work orders, unit turns, and emergency maintenance situations.
You will work closely with community staff and residents to address maintenance concerns efficiently and professionally.
Key Responsibilities
- Complete assigned service requests and work orders in a timely manner
- Perform general apartment maintenance and repairs
- Troubleshoot and repair plumbing, electrical, HVAC, appliance, and carpentry-related issues
- Assist with apartment turnovers and make-ready activities
- Conduct preventive maintenance throughout the property
- Inspect community grounds and common areas for maintenance needs
- Respond to maintenance emergencies as needed
- Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work environment
- Deliver exceptional customer service while interacting with residents and staff
- Follow all community policies and safety procedures
On-Call Responsibilities
This position includes on-call responsibilities as needed.
- An answering service handles incoming maintenance emergencies.
- The answering service will contact the Field Employee only if an on-site response is necessary.
- Expect approximately 1–2 emergency on-call work orders per week.
Qualifications
- Previous apartment maintenance, facilities maintenance, or building maintenance experience preferred
- Knowledge of plumbing, electrical, HVAC, appliance repair, and general carpentry
- Ability to diagnose and resolve maintenance issues efficiently
- Strong customer service and communication skills
- Ability to work independently and manage priorities effectively
- Reliable transportation and punctual attendance
- Commitment to safety and quality workmanship
