About the Opportunity

We are seeking an experienced Apartment Community Manager to oversee a senior housing community in Santa Ana, CA. This is a temporary assignment covering a leave of absence and is an excellent opportunity for a skilled affordable housing professional with strong Tax Credit (LIHTC) and HUD experience.

The community serves a senior resident population, with approximately 95% of residents being Asian-speaking seniors. Success in this role requires exceptional patience, compassion, professionalism, and outstanding customer service skills.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage day-to-day operations of a senior apartment community.
  • Ensure compliance with HUD and Tax Credit (LIHTC) regulations.
  • Process resident files, certifications, and annual/interim recertifications.
  • Maintain accurate resident and compliance records.
  • Provide exceptional customer service to residents, vendors, and staff.
  • Handle resident relations with empathy and professionalism.
  • Coordinate maintenance requests and property operations.
  • Support occupancy goals and leasing activities as needed.
  • Work closely with residents and families to address concerns and maintain resident satisfaction.

Qualifications

✅ Previous experience as an Apartment Community Manager required.

✅ Strong knowledge of HUD and Tax Credit (LIHTC) programs.

Recertification experience is required.

✅ Experience working in affordable housing and senior living communities preferred.

✅ Strong organizational and compliance skills.

✅ Excellent communication and conflict-resolution abilities.

✅ Patient, compassionate, and service-oriented personality.

✅ Ability to work effectively with a diverse resident population.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience working with senior housing communities.
  • Familiarity with Asian cultural communities and multilingual environments.
  • Bilingual skills are a plus but not required.
