BG Staffing is seeking a reliable and skilled Apartment Maintenance Technician to support multiple apartment communities throughout the Kansas City metro area. This position is ideal for someone who enjoys hands-on work, takes pride in maintaining apartment communities, and can independently complete a variety of maintenance tasks. This is a multi-site position that requires travel between properties, with occasional visits to two nearby communities in the same day.

• Pay: $22.00/hour
• Schedule: Monday–Friday, 8:00 AM–5:00 PM
• Opportunity Type: Contract-to-Hire

Responsibilities

• Complete work orders efficiently and professionally
• Perform general maintenance tasks, including:
  • Basic plumbing repairs
  • Electrical troubleshooting and minor repairs
  • Appliance diagnostics and basic repairs
  • Carpentry, drywall, painting, and general upkeep
• Assist with apartment turns and make-ready preparation
• Install and replace fixtures, hardware, and other unit components
• Maintain community grounds, common areas, and amenities
• Communicate maintenance updates and repair needs with onsite property teams
• Respond to resident maintenance requests with a friendly, professional attitude
• Ensure all work meets safety and quality standards
• Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment

Requirements

• Previous apartment maintenance experience required
• Strong knowledge of:
  • Basic plumbing
  • Electrical troubleshooting
  • Carpentry and drywall repair
  • Appliance troubleshooting and repair
• Ability to safely operate hand and power tools
• Must provide your own basic maintenance tools
• Ability to lift, bend, climb stairs, and perform physically demanding work
• Valid driver's license, reliable transportation, and current auto insurance required
• Reliable, punctual, detail-oriented, and able to work independently
• Strong communication and customer service skills
