Commercial Maintenance Technician

Location: Columbus, OH

Job Type: Contract-to-Hire

Schedule: Monday–Friday, 7:00 AM – 3:30 PM

Pay Rate: $26.00–$29.00 per hour DOE

Position Overview

We are seeking a reliable and motivated Maintenance Technician to join our team in Columbus, OH. Under limited supervision, this position performs a variety of routine and semi-skilled maintenance and repair tasks involving building facilities, equipment, and grounds. The ideal candidate will possess strong troubleshooting abilities, a solid work ethic, and the ability to work both independently and as part of a team.

Key Responsibilities

• Maintain building exteriors and parking garage areas, including snow and ice removal.
• Respond to tenant requests and building work orders while maintaining accurate documentation.
• Assist with preventative maintenance programs and recordkeeping.
• Follow established maintenance schedules and respond to after-hours calls as needed.
• Coordinate and assist vendors and contractors during site visits.
• Maintain elevator lobbies, parking garage, and loading dock areas.
• Perform exterior grounds maintenance, including:
  • Trash removal
  • Leaf blowing during fall months
  • Snow removal using tractors and snow blowers
  • Applying salt to sidewalks and garage areas
  • Operating power washing equipment
• Operate equipment such as:
  • John Deere Gator
  • Tractor
  • Snow blower
  • Power washer
  • Billy Goat equipment
• Maintain inventory of parts and supplies.
• Support overtime and non-standard work schedules when required.
• Complete all required company training programs.

Qualifications

Required:

• Minimum of 2 years of maintenance experience.
• Basic knowledge of electrical and plumbing systems.
• Ability to troubleshoot plumbing issues, replace light bulbs, and change ballasts.
• Proficiency with hand tools and power tools.
• HVAC maintenance experience.
