Assistant Property Manager (APM)

💲 $31.00–$36.00/hour (DOE)

The Assistant Property Manager supports daily operations of commercial properties, focusing on tenant relations, vendor coordination, financial management, and compliance. This role ensures efficient property performance by addressing tenant needs, overseeing maintenance activities, and supporting financial and reporting functions.


Key Responsibilities

  • Act as primary point of contact for tenants and vendors, managing relationships and resolving issues
  • Coordinate and track maintenance requests to ensure timely completion
  • Oversee preventative maintenance programs (e.g., HVAC) and vendor scheduling
  • Manage tenant move-ins and move-outs, including all required documentation
  • Support leasing efforts, including showing available spaces
  • Handle financial operations:
    • Process and approve invoices
    • Track rent payments and manage collections (Yardi or similar system)
    • Resolve delinquencies and negotiate payment plans
  • Assist with annual budgeting and monthly/quarterly reporting
  • Review and manage vendor contracts for compliance and accuracy
  • Track vendor insurance certificates and ensure regulatory compliance
  • Prepare lease documentation and tenant correspondence
  • Maintain accurate tenant and vendor records
  • Promote a safe and compliant property environment


Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Communications, or related field (or equivalent experience)
  • 3+ years of commercial property management experience (industrial preferred)
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Outlook, Teams)
  • Yardi experience preferred
  • Strong organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills
