Our client, a leading global investment management firm, is seeking a Senior Business Project Manager to support a major Middle Office Transformation Program within their enterprise Transformation Office.

This initiative focuses on migrating portfolio accounting and middle-office operational functions from legacy systems to a new strategic service platform. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience leading business process change and operational transformation initiatives within the financial services sector. This is a business-facing, non-technical project management role that requires strong leadership, communication, and stakeholder management skills.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and manage assigned workstreams within a large-scale middle office transformation program, ensuring all milestones and deliverables are met.
  • Partner closely with business stakeholders, technology teams, and external service providers to execute conversion activities and ensure operational readiness.
  • Develop and maintain project plans, task lists, risk/issue logs, and status reports.
  • Coordinate and oversee testing, conversion rehearsals, and execution phases.
  • Drive business process improvements and ensure alignment with target operating models.
  • Communicate clearly and effectively across multiple stakeholder groups, both internal and external.
  • Proactively identify risks and issues, recommend solutions, and drive resolution.
  • Take ownership of assigned initiatives and hold all stakeholders accountable for deliverables and dependencies.

Required Qualifications

  • 7+ years of business project management experience, ideally within financial services, consulting, or a related operational environment.
  • Proven experience managing large-scale business transformation, outsourcing, or operational migration projects.
  • Strong understanding of middle office or operational workflows (e.g., portfolio accounting, fund operations, data flow).
  • Exceptional organizational, prioritization, and follow-up skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills; able to communicate effectively with senior leadership.
  • Strong stakeholder management and cross-functional collaboration skills.
  • Ability to work in fast-paced, high-visibility environments with competing priorities.
  • Self-starter who takes initiative and demonstrates accountability and ownership.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Prior experience managing third-party vendor integrations or service transitions.
  • Exposure to conversion, testing, or business readiness workstreams.
  • Familiarity with data-intensive or middle office migration programs (a plus).
  • PMP or similar project management certification (preferred, not required).

Work Environment

  • Hybrid model: 4 days onsite / 1 day remote (Baltimore, MD).
  • Must be local or within commuting distance.
  • Collaborative, global team environment within a structured transformation program.
