About the role
Our client is looking a skilled Building Technician for our client sites in San Jose and Milpitas office to undertake a variety of day-to-day tasks relating to the General Interior and Building Maintenance for these two sites. This includes office equipment and tools, maintaining the equipment to ensure its functionality. You will be an integral part in ensuring that our office operations run smoothly and a frequent point of contact for key stakeholders, client employees and vendors.
About you
You can perform general facilities task coordination and support with a proactive approach to internal customer and building needs. You enjoy interacting with people and are organized and detail-oriented. You are comfortable working with computer-generated work orders, planning your work and working the plan but with the understanding that no two days in facilities management are the same. This means you posses the ability to be flexible and adapt to changes in schedules and priorities to meet our clients’ needs. You also have good communication skills and understand the importance of being a team player. Your role will be paramount to creating a safe and functioning work environment for the client employees, their guests, vendors and of course, your coworkers!
Responsibilities may include any combination of the following:
§ Coordinate with key stakeholders, which may include the site leader, your manager and co-workers, and vendors to submit work orders utilizing the client’s Jira ticketing system. Our goal is to document 100% of the value we provide to our clients
§ Manage small projects under minimal supervision
§ Perform tasks such as but not limited changing light bulbs, install and uninstall furniture, office moves and furniture moves meeting setups
§ Coordinate with the building landlord as needed and submit work orders required for services they provide as part of the client’s lease
§ Assist with coordinating schedules with vendors, client security and internal resources
§ Be willing and able to cross train in other departments and duties to ensure cohesive coverage and team support. This will include mailroom services, shipping & receiving and print operations.
§ Perform a daily visual check of the building to identify safety hazards and maintenance issues and report them to your manager in a timely manner.
§ Manage small vendors under general guidance when needed
§ Ability to work with subcontractors to oversee construction projects within the building.
§ Perform work related to filing, workstation and office signage, art collection, direct employee communications, floor plan updates etc.
§ Notify security of 3rd party vendors of scheduled visits and escort them as needed
§ Work with subcontractors to oversee construction projects within the building
§ Perform small to medium size projects including office space planning under supervisor guidance of the Facilities Coordinator
§ Perform various assigned tasks as required
§ Manage/supervise onsite vendors as required

Qualifications
§ High school diploma or GED-equivalent required
§ At least 3 years working in building services in a large and lively office environment
§ Strong organization skills and the ability to manage multiple processes and priorities at the same time
§ Outstanding interpersonal, communication, and customer service skills including a flexible and positive attitude
§ Strong proficiency in multiple web-based applications, including Microsoft and Google
§ First Aid/CPR training a bonus!

Technical Qualifications
§ Ability to stand, sit and/or walk for long periods of time with or without accommodation.
