Want to Know More About the Role?
Our Building Engineers play a vital role in maintaining the day-to-day operations of commercial properties. You’ll complete work orders, perform preventative and corrective maintenance, and support the Chief Engineer or Director of Engineering in ensuring buildings are safe, efficient, and operating at peak performance.
This position places a strong emphasis on environmental systems and life safety standards, while aligning with each property owner’s goals and expectations.
General Job Duties:
- Perform routine preventive maintenance and corrective repairs across building systems and grounds
- Inspect systems including HVAC, plumbing, and fire alarms to ensure safe, optimal performance
- Troubleshoot and repair building components including drains, roofs, lighting systems, kitchen equipment, and more
- Respond to emergency calls promptly and professionally, calling in additional support if needed
- Lead or support technicians, mechanics, or outside contractors as required
- Maintain energy management systems to reduce costs and optimize efficiency
- Keep accurate records of all repairs and maintenance performed
- Ensure compliance with safety procedures and building standards
- Handle other tasks as assigned to support the smooth operation of the property
What We’re Looking For:
- At least 2 years of building maintenance experience, preferably in commercial buildings
- Working knowledge of HVAC, plumbing, electrical, and building automation systems
- Strong understanding of energy management techniques and system optimization
- Active trade licenses or certifications as required (e.g., EPA Universal Certification, City-specific licenses, Boiler or Steam Operator licenses)
- Ability to operate both manual and power tools safely and effectively
- Excellent customer service and communication skills
- Strong attention to detail, with the ability to prioritize and respond quickly in a fast-paced environment
