Position: Systems Engineer (Infrastructure Support)

Overview

Seeking an experienced Systems Engineer to support and manage critical infrastructure systems throughout their full lifecycle—including design, implementation, maintenance, and upgrades. This role involves supporting a complex virtual desktop and server environment, as well as core network and backup systems.

Key Responsibilities

• Maintain and support a large-scale VDI and virtual server environment
• Monitor systems, networks, and applications to proactively resolve issues
• Implement system patches, updates, and infrastructure enhancements
• Manage infrastructure monitoring and ensure system availability
• Maintain file shares and backup/recovery operations
• Assist in the design and implementation of network and infrastructure components
• Recommend and evaluate emerging technologies
• Provide mentorship to junior engineers
• Participate in on-call rotation and respond to incidents
• Document systems and procedures clearly and effectively

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in IT, Computer Science, or related field preferred
• 5–10 years of experience in Systems Engineering or equivalent
• Relevant certifications (Microsoft, Cisco, Citrix, etc.) are a plus

Key Skills & Competencies

• Expertise in Microsoft server/workstation environments
• Strong experience with Citrix VDI (Citrix DaaS, FSLogix preferred)
• Familiarity with Nutanix hardware and AHV
• Proficiency in Windows infrastructure services (AD, GPO, DFS, etc.)
• Experience with VMware, SAN storage, and backup systems (Commvault preferred)
• Network support experience with Cisco switches, routers, and firewalls
• Scripting experience (Batch, VBScript, PowerShell, or Perl)
• Strong troubleshooting, communication, and time management skills
• Ability to work under pressure during planned and unplanned outages
