Are you an experienced Commercial Building Engineer looking for a short-term opportunity in Dallas (ZIP code 75225)? We're currently hiring for a contract role supporting Class A office building. This position offers competitive pay and the chance to work with a long-standing client.

Job Overview

As the Building Engineer, you’ll be responsible for ensuring the efficient operation of all building systems in alignment with quality, cost, and programming requirements. You’ll support the day-to-day functions and maintenance of professional office building, ensuring high standards and operational excellence.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform general repairs and maintenance, including plumbing, electrical, HVAC, locks, fire safety equipment, elevators, landscaping, signage, janitorial, and more.
• Act as the on-site point of contact for contractors, fire marshals, and vendors when the property manager is unavailable.
• Manage vendor negotiations, obtain competitive bids, and ensure project adherence.
• Troubleshoot and repair mechanical and electrical systems.
• Monitor and optimize energy usage.
• Maintain documentation, including maintenance logs and Material Safety Data Sheets (MSDS).

Qualifications

• High school diploma (or equivalent); advanced training or certification preferred.
• Minimum 3 years’ experience in commercial office building maintenance.
• Strong working knowledge of plumbing, HVAC, electrical, and general building systems.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office; strong communication and customer service skills.
• Ability to read blueprints and interpret building codes; basic understanding of construction contracts and pricing.
