Financial Systems Solution Architect with Cognos (Remote – U.S. Based)

Are you a tech-savvy problem solver with a passion for financial systems? We’re looking for a Financial Systems Solution Architect to join our team and lead the design, development, and optimization of our IBM Cognos TM1 environment.

This is a fully remote opportunity open to candidates across the U.S.

Responsibilities And Duties

• Lead the development and enhancement of IBM Cognos TM1 cubes, working hands-on and managing vendor partners.
• Build internal capabilities to manage TM1 independently— reducing reliance on external vendors.
• Document and streamline financial data flows from source systems to reporting outputs.
• Design and implement consistent hierarchies, security models, and logic across reporting tools (Cognos, Tableau, Excel).
• Establish a structured change management process for cube updates.
• Conduct business analysis, process mapping, and fit-gap assessments.
• Evaluate new project feasibility and recommend scalable, secure solutions.
• Present architectural designs and project roadmaps to stakeholders.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to support enterprise-wide reporting structures.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience in financial systems or business intelligence roles.
• 3+ years of hands-on experience with IBM Cognos (TM1, Framework Manager, Report Studio, SDK).
• Strong SQL and MDX skills.
• Deep understanding of TM1 cube architecture, including security, dimensional modeling, and performance tuning.
• Experience with Cognos Planning Analytics and Excel-based reporting integrations.
• Familiarity with major RDBMS platforms (e.g., MS SQL Server).
• Background in finance or accounting is a strong plus.

Education

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Business, Statistics, or a related field.
• Minimum of 5 years of relevant experience, including at least 3 years working with Cognos technologies.
• Equivalent combinations of education and experience will be considered.
