About the Role:

The Director is responsible for overseeing the full scope of accounting operations, including financial reporting, general ledger management, staff development, and audit readiness. You’ll lead a dedicated team while ensuring operational excellence, regulatory compliance, and alignment with organizational strategy.

This role plays a critical part in developing financial reports, managing capital initiatives, driving process innovation, and supporting key audits and governmental filings. As a senior leader, you’ll collaborate across departments and entities to support the financial health and growth of the organization.

What You’ll Do:

• Lead, coach, and develop a high-performing accounting team while ensuring productivity, engagement, and alignment with company values.
• Oversee all aspects of monthly and year-end close, general ledger maintenance, reconciliations, and audit processes.
• Drive continuous improvement through implementation of new systems, lean process enhancements, and cross-functional collaboration.
• Manage the preparation and review of financial statements, departmental reporting, and capital expenditure tracking.
• Ensure compliance with all regulatory, accreditation, and tax requirements, including 990 Tax Returns, charity reporting, and state filings.
• Represent the department in key leadership meetings and serve as a strategic partner across the enterprise.

What We’re Looking For:

• Education: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting required; Master’s degree preferred.
• Certification: CPA required.
• Experience: 5+ years of progressive accounting experience (healthcare or public accounting), with at least 2 years in a management role.
• Expertise: Strong knowledge of healthcare accounting, regulatory compliance, financial reporting, general ledger systems, and capital tracking.
• Skills: Proven leadership, strategic thinking, and analytical ability. Advanced proficiency in Excel and ERP systems. Strong communication and stakeholder management skills.
