This opportunity is with a large Oil and Energy company that is publicly traded and recently transitioned into mainly Oracle after a large acquisition. This company offers top of the market benefits and this role is bonus eligible.

As a Senior Application Developer, they will partner with cross-functional teams to design, develop, test and implement features and code. They will also help end users understand application features to accomplish their business goals and partner with Database Administrators to achieve great application performance.

Outcomes and Activities:

• Design, code, test, and deliver insightful and architecturally sound business solutions around high complexity work
• Document code and projects so others can easily understand, maintain and support
• Fulfill customer requirements according to project/enhancement specifications
• Apply team coding, documenting and testing standards and recommend process improvements
• Improve application and team processes
• Anticipates the impact of a change or project across multiple systems
• Communicate application changes clearly, concisely, and objectively, both verbally and in writing
• Learn the business process domain to better support the business
• Decrease incidents and increase up-time by developing quality code and testing

Technical Domain: Have an understanding of the technical domain, including the application architecture, design and data of the application they support and systems to which it interfaces.

Requirements:

• Practical expertise in Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC) 
• Understanding of data modeling concepts
• Be able to coach and mentor less experienced developers.

Preferred Experience:

• Minimum 5 years of experience in Information Systems
• Knowledge of ETL tools - Oracle Data Integrator Enterprise Edition 
• Proficiency in PL/SQL coding, troubleshooting, and performance tuning
• Experience with Oracle (preferably version 12)
• Experience with P2 Energy Applications
• Knowledge of Unix Scripting and job scheduling
• Practical expertise in lifecycle database design
• Experience in Data Quality and Cleansing, Data Governance, Metadata usage and management, and Master data management

Education: Bachelors Degree in similar Information Technologies
